Back in 2021, the Brown family, subject of the TLC show Sister Wives , had a bit of a shake up when Christine Brown announced her split from her “spiritual union” with Kody. Christine, who had been “spiritually” married to Kody since 1994, was the third wife to enter the Browns’ polygamous relationship, following Janelle and Meri.
In 2010, Sister Wives began with Kody introducing Robyn as his fourth wife of the family. He would later divorce his first wife, Meri, so that he could legally marry Robyn in 2014, in order to strengthen their relationship.
In 2022, a year after announcing the dissolution of her relationship with Kody, fans of the show wondered if Christine would still make appearances, or if she was done with the series for good.

Posting to both her TikTok and Instagram pages, Christine confirmed that, while she is no longer in a romantic relationship with Kody, she will still be on Sister Wives .
In a minute long clip, Christine started out by saying, “I am definitely not leaving Sister Wives .” She then excitedly showed of the set that TLC producers created in a section of Christine’s unfinished basement. She first showed what would appear during her confessionals on the show, before turning around to show the unfinished portion where producers and camera crew would be stationed.

“After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave,” text reads in the post. “We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family. At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate this stage within our family.”
Kody also released a statement on Instagram , confirming the fact that his spiritual marriage with Christine had ended.
Much Of Their Relationship Problems Stemmed From Their Move To Flagstaff
The 16th season of Sister Wives showed the Browns moving to Flagstaff, Arizona. Christine expressed her unhappiness throughout the season , wanting to move back to Utah. Unlike the other wives, Christine felt that Kody was not taking her feelings into consideration when making decisions that would affect all of them. Ultimately, she felt unsupported in her marriage with Kody, and decided that it was time for them to part ways as a couple.
Christine Was Just The First Wife To Leave The Marriage
Earlier in 2022, Janelle Brown, Kody’s second wife, announced that she would be leaving the marriage. Then, months later, Meri became the third wife to announce the end of her relationship with Kody.
None of the three wives were legally married to Kody, but considered themselves in a spiritual marriage with him. Kody’s fourth wife and only wife to whom he is legally married, Robyn, is still in her marriage. She is now the only wife who has not split up with Kody.
